Style Story Feature with Meghan Meadors
Create a style that reflects your joy.
Welcome to our Style Story conversation with Meghan Meadors on personality-packed outfits, thrifted finds, and why her style is a reminder that you don’t have to fit in a box to feel like you.
We chat about how color shows up in her wardrobe and the evolution of defining her personal style. For Meg, getting dressed has become a daily ritual of self-expression, creativity, and reconnecting with herself.
Let's dive in!
Hi Meg! For those just discovering you, how would you describe your style in three words?
Playful, Feminine, Intentional

How did you begin defining your personal style?
I think I’ve always had an idea of what I like or what I’m drawn to, but it wasn’t until recently, within the last few years, that I’ve really started to put that to use! I had a few pretty chaotic years in my personal and work life and at the end of August 2024, I had decided I needed to do SOMETHING. I couldn’t wait to feel better; I had to make myself feel better. I decided to start posting on TikTok & it sounds silly, but I literally got my sparkle back. I challenged myself to post once a day and really start wearing the things I had been collecting over the years. I then tried to wear something different every day. I repeated items, of course, but I tried to be creative and come up with new combinations. I honestly surprised myself! It brought out things in me that I knew I could do, but I didn’t give myself the permission to. If you’re reading this and waiting for that permission, here it is! Have fun, be silly, try hard! Signed, me.
Over time, how has your style evolved?
I remember being in middle school and wanting what everyone else had. It was the early-mid 2000s and skater culture was everywhere in Orange County. It really wasn’t my thing, but I didn’t want to be different. Then, I got really into thrifting in high school, so I was always wearing something a little kooky. My favorites were a striped rugby shirt with the Applebee’s logo embroidered on it and bowling shoes. My 20s were a mixed bag of trying new trends, trying to find myself, and not really knowing what my vibe was. Now in my mid-thirties, I feel more like myself than I ever have! I feel like my intuition and I are best buds. I can pick out something and know it will work for me, and I don’t get buyer’s remorse as much anymore. I like to say, “which personality am I putting on today?” Sometimes, I want to be my Limited Too persona- bright, sparkly, fun. Sometimes I’m a banker dad wearing oversized button downs and ties. Other times, I’m a girl band manager in an oversized blazer, wide-leg jeans, and a band tee. I don’t put myself in a box and I just have fun with it! Life’s too short to be so serious about style.
What are you currently inspired by?
There are SO many cool, smart, fun, stylish women I am lucky to call friends on social media that inspire me daily! I’m having a menswear moment and I’m really into ties and suiting (hence my tie Tuesday series), but in a Julia Roberts on the red carpet in the 90s kind of way. I’m also always looking to the girlies who raised me: Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen. My ultimate inspiration though and the reason I have any sort of style, is my mom! Queen Lisa. She was the one who said, “why not?” when I wanted to wear my new fuchsia leather pants to church in elementary school. Or my matching snakeskin leather jacket and mini skirt. Okay, it sounds like I wore a lot of leather, but those are the ones that stand out in my mind. She also had the BEST 80s and 90s wardrobe. A true style icon!

How does color show up in your wardrobe and how does it affect your mood?
Omg, color is so important to me. If I’m not wearing color, I don’t really feel like myself! Anytime I wear pink (my favorite color), I swear I could conquer just about anything thrown my way. It’s the Elle Woods in me. What, like it’s hard? Every now and then I’ll wear all black, but I’ll add pops of color in accessories: a fun sock, brooch, or tie. If I end up wearing something I’m not feeling great in, it absolutely affects my day, and I feel like a Debbie Downer. But wearing something colorful and bright is a sure-fire way to ensure I have a sunny outlook!
What’s one item in your closet that holds a story?
I recently sewed a bunch of patches I’ve been hoarding to a chore coat. Some of the patches are from my stint in Girl Scouts in the 90s/2000s, some are from the era of my life where I visited Comic Con every year, and some are from real life friends I’ve made on TikTok & Instagram! It may not be obvious to anyone but myself, but it reminds me of all the people I once was and how it’s shaped me into who I am today!

Walk us through a typical morning. What are your daily rituals before you step out the door?
I’m woken up by my cat, Coconut, who’s really got a hankering for breakfast. My husband will make me coffee (I’m spoiled), and I’ll usually get all the way ready except for my outfit. I’m not great at hair or makeup, but I do my best! I like to put a podcast on while I get ready. I’m catching up on old episodes of Good Noticings (aka Celebrity Memoir Book Club). Or I’ll listen to music. Right now, I can’t get enough of Hilary Duff’s new album! I typically pick my outfits out the night before (in my head), but every now and then I wing it in the mornings. My favorite part of the morning though, is filming my outfit videos! Then, my cats usually yell at me for a treat before work because I accidentally taught them that they get one after I film a video. Oops! Then, it’s off to work I go! This reminded me that I probably need some better morning rituals lol.

Wavemakers Community Spotlight: BONBON
Wavemakers & Tastemakers Surf ✹ Wellness ✹ Food ✹ Community Some of the best days begin with something simple. A shared surf. A long meal that stretches into the evening. A walk along the coast with someone who was a stranger a few hours earlier. That’s what drew us to BONBON Community. This summer, our Wavemaker Texture Spray joined BONBON in Alentejo, Portugal, tucked into gift bags as a small everyday essential for retreat guests moving between surf sessions, slow meals, and salty coastal days.
