Some of the best days begin with something simple. A shared surf. A long meal that stretches into the evening. A walk along the coast with someone who was a stranger a few hours earlier.

That’s what drew us to BONBON Community.

This summer, our Wavemaker Texture Spray joined BONBON in Alentejo, Portugal, tucked into gift bags as a small everyday essential for retreat guests moving between surf sessions, slow meals, and salty coastal days.

Along Portugal’s southwest coast, where cork forests meet windswept Atlantic beaches, the retreat unfolded at the kind of pace that’s easy to forget in everyday life. Mornings started in the ocean. Afternoons lingered over beautiful meals. Evenings were spent around long tables, sharing stories, laughter, and the kind of conversations that only seem to happen when no one is looking at the clock.

At umanos, we often talk about wavemakers. To us, they’re the people creating positive ripples wherever they go. The ones who bring others together. Who make room at the table. Who remind us that adventure is better when it’s shared.

BONBON is exactly that kind of community.

We’re grateful to have been a small part of a beautiful week in Portugal—and we’re already dreaming about the next one.
