As 2022 comes to a close, we'd like to reflect on our year and what we've been able to accomplish. Still in the throes of learning how to run a business, and in the aftermath of the pandemic, we faced obstacles and challenges day in and day out — like so many other small businesses around the world. But those challenges brought creative solutions, perseverance, AND… possibly the best outcome: we now have an official 'starting umanos' theme song — Give it a listen. Thanks, Elton John. yep, still standing. We're incredibly grateful for all the support in launching Umanos. From our Kickstarter community to the many incredibly talented folks who helped bring creative visions to life, we couldn’t have done it without the efforts of many passionate people. 2022 marks our very first year in business. And we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the years ahead. Let's look back on 2022 and peek at what's to come in the (very near!) future. Looking Back on 2022 In 2022, we officially launched Umanos via a community-driven Kickstarter campaign. After over two years in development, this was the year we introduced our very first products: a collection of premium, plant-based sustainable bodycare essentials to help bring style and ease to your everyday routine. We saw a need for elevated, effective, sustainable products in our own routines, and met many people who felt the same way. In response, we created a trio of everyday products that deliver on quality, efficacy, and sustainability. We introduced our sustainable bottles, combining the sleekness of aluminum with thoughtful design. Using natural materials (vs. plastic bottles), you can enjoy a lower impact routine with 90x less plastic waste. With better materials on the outside and body-nourishing ingredients on the inside, we’ve made a lovable and sustainable routine easy. We also signed our first lease for a warehouse space in the historic SODO district of Seattle, WA. This is home to our packing, shipping and fulfillment. And where our tiny team currently does all its dreaming and scheming. Keeping our fulfillment local allows us to have more oversight on processes, waste, and helps reduce lead times, especially during peak seasons. It also enables us to hire locally when needed. What's to come in 2023? There are a lot of exciting ideas for the new year. We are working on brand awareness, processes, and product development.
